Hopper

At FMT, we operate open and covered hoppers to fit the demands of whatever product you need us to haul. FMT’s hopper barges are primarily of double-hull construction so that the sides and bottom of the cargo hold are separated by void spaces from the hull. These barges have a boxed, single-raked or double-raked hull configuration and the hoppers may be covered or open. Our covers are a roll-top lift-off (stacking) type so that covers protect the cargo from the elements. Bulk cargoes include commodities such as grain, coal, sugar, steel, aggregates and timber products.
